Making a difference in Portsmouth
The Society of St James (SSJ) provides a wide range of support services in Portsmouth to help people experiencing homelessness to make positive changes to their lives and, once again, have a safe and secure place to call home.
In 2017, we invested over £500,000 in property in Portsmouth to provide more long-term housing for people who have been homeless and are now launching a new capital appeal to raise a further £100,000 that will be used to help fund the purchase of two more properties in the City to be used for the same purpose.
As part of the range of activities we plan to undertake, Portsmouth City Council is supporting us to produce Christmas cards that can be sold in local retail outlets, with all of the proceeds going towards our capital appeal.
We would like the support of local people in designing the cards and are holding a competition to select eight winning designs.
The winners will have their designs turned into Christmas cards to be sold throughout Portsmouth.
To enter the competition please submit an original photograph or artwork of something related to Portsmouth, with a ‘Winter’ or ‘Christmas’ theme.
Photographs need to be submitted in their original size, not cropped or re-sized. Drawings can be up to A3 in size.

Entries must be submitted by 4pm, Sunday 22nd October 2017
As well as having your design sold around Portsmouth, the eight winning entries will also each receive a £15 Amazon or high street gift voucher.
The competition is open to everyone of all ages in Portsmouth and we look forward to receiving your designs!
