Mettricks – Better Coffee – Better City
Mettricks Tea and Coffee Houses have been great supporters of SSJ since they opened in Southampton.
In December we were delighted to be presented with a cheque for £1000 from their fundraising efforts, over the course of the year. We are so pleased that the team are continuing to support SSJ throughout 2017 and so grateful for the generosity of their customers.
There are two exciting events happening at Mettricks next week with donations to be collected for SSJ, that we wanted to tell you about.
Latte Art Throw Down at Mettricks Guildhall – Tuesday 28th March
Many of us enjoy Mettricks lovely coffee and are often impressed by the milky designs created to appear in our drinks.
Next Tuesday, Baristas from all over the South are aiming to show off their best latte art skills by entering Mettricks first Latte Art throwdown competition at Mettricks Guildhall .
Come along and join us from 5.30 onwards to see some amazing latte art, enjoy some better coffee or have a beer whilst trying some delicious pizza. Proceeds to come to SSJ.
Local board game publishers Braincrack Games are hosting their first games night at the Mettricks Old Town café next Thursday, to help raise money for SSJ
‘Dice Tossers’ at Mettricks Old Town – Thursday 30th March
The local publisher, which has released two board games in the last year, invite you to Mettricks for an evening of local food, drinks – and games!
A wide array of modern board and card games will be available to play, depending on whether you want to work together to fight diseases in ‘Pandemic’ or build your own city in ‘Machi Koro.’
Braincrack MD, Lewis Shaw, says “Southampton has such a great community of gamers, and we want to foster that as much as possible. The fact that we’re able to host in such a great venue and for such a great cause only sweetens the deal.”
A small library of games will be available to play, but people are welcome to bring their own favourites.
‘Dice Tossers’ will run from 7-10pm on Thursday 30th of March. You can reserve your ticket here. Entry is free, however Braincrack are asking for donations to SSJ.
We hope to see you at one of these inventive events!
