SSJ shortlisted for the NatWest Skills & Opportunities Fund – VOTE NOW

We are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for this year’s NatWest Skills & Opportunities Fund!

The fund’s aim is to help build better communities for everyone, with NatWest allocating £1 million to give away across England and Wales. An organisation or project in each region has the opportunity to win up to £35,000.

You can vote for us in the South West and Wales region HERE:

If we win – funding will be used for a brand new programme, ‘Money Wise‘, which will deliver a series of workshops to support 180 of our Southampton-based service users with financial management.

For many of our service users, dealing with money issues and/or having the confidence to proactively manage their finances is often a problem. The Money Wise workshops aims to reduce the barrier posed by poor financial knowledge. This will be achieved by covering topics such as – how to manage debts, advice on banking, budgeting and encouraging a better overall relationship with money.

The programme will also enable us to refresh our volunteer programme, with service users well into their recovery taking part as peer volunteers. Each peer volunteer will be provided with valuable training to make them capable of then delivering the workshop to their friends and neighbours.

Can you help?

Grant opportunities and corporate sponsorship are vital funding streams for us as an organisation. If you would like to know more about how you can support us as a business, organisation or even on an individual basis – please get in touch below.
