Charity Birthday; Our BIG 4-O

We’re having a Charity Birthday!
By way of a thank you, we’ll be updating this particular page every time we find out that someone new is getting involved with our BIG 4-O celebrations.

Our BIG 4-O

Our first contributor is Pretty Little Hooky Things‘ Stephanie Chapman who blogs here.
She has creatively and generously thought through how to contribute to her local community through her business, and come up with a brilliant link between our work and hers.

Pretty Little Hooky Things Chari-tea Cosy

Our What a Difference a Tea Makes post, inspired her to whip up and sell tea cosies with 40p from each sale coming directly back to us here at the Society of St James.
Read all about her creative endeavours here.

One of our committed staff members is also challenging herself to mark our charity birthday. Sue works in one of our hostels and is fully aware of the difference SSJ makes in people’s lives. She’s coming on the Himalayas Trek with us and recognises that part of the preparation for this  will be to improve her overall health. “I am intending to get sponsored to stop smoking for 40 days on the 12th May (hopefully forever!) and then on the 40th day I will be going to the Isle of Wight Festival, where I intend to be alcohol free for the entire festival. This is indeed going to be the biggest challenge I will ever have done as I usually open a can of cider on waking!”

40 days is just the beginning ….
