Is a peer support group which is part of the Alcohol Pathfinder Wrap Around Services.
Who is it for?
Peer support can be a valuable aftercare resource for those leaving treatment and for people looking to make a lifestyle change with their issues around alcohol.
The group has a non 12-Step, structured, flexible and relaxed approach.
The ASSURE Group promotes inclusion rather than exclusion.
Aim
The Group’s aim is to support each other working towards personal change. It is complimentary to existing services by providing people with access to support from the Group and Peer Supporters.
Anyone who is abstinent or looking to make a lifestyle change with their alcohol problem is welcome to join.
What is a Peer Supporter?
A person who has faced similar experiences, can give support when taking those first steps and facing new experiences. A Peer Supporter can support you in making positive changes.
Who can access the group?
People who are abstinent or have an alcohol issue and are motivated to change. There is no referral route.
Where & When?
Weekly meetings on Fridays 1 – 3pm at Bevois Community Building (cream and blue building).
